No known drug interactions exist. Ispaghula and other bulk-forming laxatives may delay or reduce the gastrointestinal absorption of other drugs such as lithium, coumarin derivatives, cardiac glycosides, or vitamins (such as vitamin B12) and minerals (such as calcium, iron or zinc).
Gastrointestinal effects: Flatulence and bloating may be experienced during the first few days of treatment but reduces during continued treatment.
Hypersensitivity Reactions: Rhinitis, bronchospasm, conjunctivitis and in some cases, anaphylaxia, cutaneous symptoms as exanthema and/or pruritus.
It is recommended to take conservative measures in case of overdosage. Symptoms include abdominal discomfort and flatulence, and attention should be paid to maintaining an adequate fluid intake, particularly if the powder has been taken without water contrary to administration instructions.
Contraindicated in patients with Hypersensitivity to Ispaghula husk, Sarjika Kshar, Nimbu Satva or to any of the ingredient in the formulation. Intestinal obstruction and colonic atony, fecal impaction, colonic atony such as senile mega-colon Natural or drug-induced reduction of gut motility.
